Electro Convulsive Therapy is an old practice where small and moderate amount of electric shocks are given to the brain of the affected person to cure certain mental imbalance.

Electro convulsive therapy is given to patients who have mental illness, with an intention to reduce the mental disorders and pains. Here, some mild electrical current is being given to the patient, to activate the functioning of the brain overseeing changes and correction process.
